PRECIOUS METALS – WORTH THE HYPE?

Sleek Precious Metals Review – Is it really worth the blogging hype?

precious metals highlighter review

I maybe late on the band wagon – but hey at least I’m there! Sleek have been doing a mental offer recently, two items for £10 in most Superdrug stores so how could I miss this opportunity!? I have been scouring the Internet for the precious metal highlighting palette review ever since this little beauty came out. And now I’ve managed to bag myself one! But, is it really worth the hype?

I say hype… In the blogging world I feel like there has been a hell of a lot of hype surrounding this palette but my sister actually tried this when it first came out and wasn’t astounded by it so maybe that’s one reason I didn’t jump on it straight away (another being, I’ve been so skint lately ha!) anyway that said, this offer made it hard for me to resist. Let’s jump right in…

I swatched them to show you how Pigmented each pan is. From top to bottom swatches: antique bronze, Renaissance gold, Royal gold and platinum.

sleek precious metals review

precious metals highlighter reviewFirstly, how beautiful is the packaging!? The metallic casing looks chic and expensive. I love where Sleek are going with this product it looks much more high end but keeping to a high street budget. The pans included are platinum top left, Royal gold top right, Renaissance gold bottom left and antique bronze bottoms right. All of them are cream products except the antique bronze powder in the bottom right. I have used the platinum highlight to strobe my nose length, cupids bow and to highlight underneath my brows. The staying power of this palette is good, I use a fixing spray after I’ve finished my makeup so this also might help if you do find the product sliding around. But I find if I apply it with my beauty blender in patting motions rather than sliding motions I don’t have this problem anyway.

100% worth the hype! It gives a gorgeous buildable highlight which you can easily control. You’ll be a shimmering fairy in no time with this product! My favourite in this palette has to be the platinum, I think it’s incredibly versatile and not like any other highlight I’ve found so far! What’s your favourite from this palette?

Hope you’re all doing fabulous. Lots of love xxx

HOLLYWOOD GLAM – MAKE UP LOOK

Hollywood Glamour Makeup Look // Drug Store Products

I very rarely go without a winged eye, so when I thought about my next makeup look to post, the Hollywood Glamour look was a no brainer! Hollywood Glam can be very sophisticated, and a red lip always adds a little something extra to an outfit. I decided to go with an extra smokey eye for a slightly edgy look. OH and I filmed it tehe! I’ve wanted to film for my YouTube channel for years.. just never really faced up to uploading but once RACHEL from rachelramblingon.wordpress.com and ROSHNI from roshnimistry.com gave me a little supportive push I thought I would finally pluck up the courage to post this vid I filmed last week!(Thanks Girlies :D)

FEBRUARY FAVOURITES

Hey! Thanks for popping by…

I feel like I’m becoming more and more committed to this blogging lark, I’m putting more time and effort in to each post and noticing a difference from my first blog post written two years ago (eek, is it just me who finds old writing styles awks?).Today I wanted to share with you things I’ve been loving this month..This post isn’t sponsored mind, it’s just full of products I’ve not been able to put down. Please bare in mind it’s a Friday night as I’m writing this large glass of red in hand, maybe I’ll write better tipsy, who knows?…I can already hear you saying ‘well we will be the judge of that by the end of this post’. I will try and link everything below…Make sure you leave me your social links down below so I can check you out 🙂 PS. This post is split in to two, second part posted tomorrow / Sunday morning (I wrote way too much to bore you with for just the one post!) xox

feb faves products

Firstly I want to start with my Sleek travel size brushes… I recently visited my family in Cornwall and these were little life savers…you know, when you have to condense your make up into a travel size pouch?  Who am I kidding, I definitely didn’t take a travel size pouch, I took my usual large make up bag stuffed into my large suitcase – when I arrived everyone assumed I was staying for the month you know the deal.

Soap & Glory’s Peaches and Clean Deep Cleansing Milk is a nourishing cleanser which also takes away makeup, it leaves my skin silky soft and moisturised. Apparently, it’s rich in antioxidants and vitamins A & C and also animal cruelty free, that said, it’s one of my everyday products.

Elvive Shampoo Soap & Glory Alien Perfume February Favourites

At the moment this is my ‘go to’ palette – The Revolution Salvation Palette has all of the staple colours both matte and metallics. It’s super affordable too at £4.00!

Revolution Make Up Eye Palette

My favourite perfume EVER! Alien Thierry Mugler – I don’t think I’ve ever found a perfume quite like it. Every time I where it someone compliments the scent, it’s super distinctive too it smells very strong and sexy.

Alien Perfume VO5 Give Me Texture Instant Powder and Make Up Brushes

This VO5 give me texture instant powder is actually my boyfriends (thanks Liam muwhaha) but whenever I’m off on a night out or I’m in need of some extra zhuzh this is my go to product. When you have newly washed hair and you need that beehive to be extra voluminous, you know what I’m talking about (THE STRUGGLE IS REAL) – Well, not with this little pink bottle of genius!

Crazy Colour Silver Shampoo Vo5 give me texture

Crazy Colour Silver Semi Permanent hair colour creme is my saviour. When I dye the blonde ombre section of my hair this always fixes the brassy tones. It settles the bottom section of my hair into a much cooler tone. And it’s not bad for the price! You can buy it from Amazon (linked) / Pauls Hair World or Sallys.

Loreal Elvive Shampoo and Conditioner

My hair is super thick and naturally knotty, see what I did there?..No? Haha this wine is going down A treat! Anyway.. Sometimes I get out the shower having soaked my hair in conditioner with great big knots at the back of my head, Maybe I should mention I’ve died my hair every colour under the sun so no wonder my hair hates me. Elvive extraordinary oil shampoo and conditioners make my hair feel so nourished! And they smell delicious! What more could you want?

I love to find out what products you lovely people use so if you would like to, comment below your Feb Favs  🙂

LYDIA ROSE BRIGHT – TOWIE EDITION

I’m feeling Lydia from TOWIE has had a major transition in her wardrobe of recent. Her style is sheek and flawless with a spot of quirky make up looks every now and then. She’s doing it well!

I love nothing more than a vampy look! And here Lydia wears smokey black eyes with a vampy plum lip.

Upon reading Lydia’s blog : http://lydiarosebright.blogspot.co.uk/2015/03/my-top-three-lipsticks.html?m=1 She says this one was limecrime.

Lydia Rose Bright Towie

But I wanted to do one better, knowing how expensive makes like MAC and LIMECRIME are, not everyone can afford to flutter away 15pounds + on just a liner/lipstick so I’ve found a cheaper alternative!

The lipstick is colour RICH from seventeen.

It was around £4 from boots and the liner is from superdrug pricing at £2.99 in colour 11 – plum!

My eyes are just done with a standard wing with a collection eyeliner and mascara is the seventeen one I recently reviewed, you can check it out here if you haven’t already read it 🙂 >>> Spider Eyes

LILAC LIP

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

MUA you beautiful brand! How can a high quality product be so cheap!? I love the MUA lipsticks especially because I think a few of them are very good dupes! The opaqueness of the matte MUA lipsticks give a creamy texture on your lips.

IMG_4367
This one is the ‘Lilac belle’ colour. At £1 you can only compliment it’s lovely colour and creamy quality. I have a make up bag full of MUA lipsticks because I love the tones they have come out with lately. (Although this lilac one has been out for around a year I think?)

It adds a pop of colour to that LBD or smartens up that smashual look you’re going for on a cinema date 🙂

TIP

IMG_4372
The bottom of all MUA lipsticks have a little screw top lid filled with extra lippy to get stuck in with a brush! (I accidentally discovered this about a month after purchasing my first MUA lipstick and was pleasantly surprised)

I would give this lipstick a 4/5 because the colour isn’t something I have seen around a lot and I love the creaminess of the texture. I haven’t given this a five because I think the creaminess can be a negative if you have dry lips (it makes dry parts quite visible which isn’t the best on a matte lipstick!)

TIP
Use a cotton bud to remove excess colour from your lips.
